SECURITY ...
What's security? A word with many meanings. A word that both gender can use anytime, anywhere. A word that can be used on many things....
Just yesterday, a popular drug store had one of their shelves swiped clean of products late afternoon, by professional thieves - syndicates. A loss of a few grand and a police case filed. One may wonder, "how come there isn't any security tags/sensors in the store"? Where are the security guards?
Just today, another branch of the same popular drug store (at a popular shopping mall) had another of their shelves swiped clean of products! By who? No guesses - same syndicate group (i suspect). Another loss of a ew grand and another police case filed. Isn't two thefts enough to wake up the dead brain cells of the management team? Are they doing something about it? Or... are they simply just gonna shrugg their shoulders and say, "Well..... why isn't there enough staff on duty" etc etc. Finger-pointing yet not doing anything about it.
Security - whenever a couple argue, this word never fails to be brought up. Gal may ask, "why don't you ever give me security"? Guy may reply, "what security are you talking about"? Isn't my love enough to give you security? blah blah blah.... Fight fight fight... Cry cry cry....
Security - are our homes free from security? Why do some homes require the presence of a Cisco alarm? Do we have that much valuable stuff that we need the protection of a Cisco alarm? If there really are so many many precious gems, diamonds, money etc in the house, shouldn't these stuff be sitting nicely in a 4x4 (or larger) steel box in a vault, enjoying the generous air-conditioning and be visited ocassionally?
Security - are our monies safe in the bank? Are our passwords protected each time we use the ATM? How much security is there if people can assemble their own tracking devise and install at ATMs just to rip people off & enjoy free shopping & cheap thrill? What's the use of 'Big Brother' in such circumstances?
Security - will we be safe from walking home at night? Do we have to constantly look over our shoulder left and right many times to be sure no one's following behind? Are we safe? With police patroling at night, instilling tighter control, will we be safe? Has it beefed up the security? What more can be done? How can it be done?
Security - are our mobile phones/computers free from virus? Can passwords protect us and our things? Are we safe from the privacy act?
Security - are we safe when we go to the loo or use the changing rooms? Away from preying eyes, peeping toms??
Security - what's security to us? Will we ever be safe? How many different situations can we use this word on? What more do we need to do to have more security?
Security .. just another English word with a thousand meaning and application.
